** Άν βγεί κανείς σήμερα μια βόλτα στον Μεσσηνιακό κόμπο , δεν νομίζω να ευχαριστηθεί από την εικόνα που θα ιδεί γύρω του .- ( Θέρος , τρύγος , πόλεμος ..)
ΩΡΑ ΑΡΦΑΡΩΝ –ΚΑΛΑΜΑΤΑΣ ΜΕΣΣΗΝΙΑΣ …ΤΩΡΑ!

** Ο κάμπος φαίνται κουρασμένος .- Δεν καλλιεργείται όπως στα παλιά όλος .- Το νερό της άρδευσης λιγοστό και οι ¨ακλαδούρες " πολλές .- Το τι είναι αυτές οι " ακλαδούρες " το νωρίζουν πολύ καλά οι αγρότες της κμπίσιας Μεσσηνίας .- Οι νε΄΄οτεροι ίσως να μην τι ξέρουν .- Είναι τα αμπέλια , ο σταφίδες και οι κλιματαριές , που δεν κλαδεύτηκαν .-
Η μη κλάδευση των κλημάτων και αμπελιών , σημαίνει εγκατάλειψή τους και μαζί με αυτά εγκατάλειψη ης Μεσσηνιακής γεωργικής γής , της ζωογόνας μάνας γης , της οποίας ποτέ δν κατάλαβε κανείς την αλίατης , βαθειά και πραγματικά .- Σαν θα ιδείς στομ περίπατό σου στην άλλοτε ευδαμονα " Μακαρία" ΄το φαινόμενο της "ακλαδούρας " θα πρέπει να νιώσεις πως η γεωργική απασχόληση μειώθηκε .- Άν ακόμη ιδείς και τα ¨θεριακωμένα βάτα " , τότε διαπιτώνεις πως η γεωργά αποτελεί παρελθόν.- Και ετά , λέμε για ανεργία ...για φτώχια .... και αφραγκιές !
Είναι κακό σημάδι αυτή η διαπίστωση , με βαθύτερη έννοια και γενικότερη σημασία .- Δεν αρκεί μόνο η ακή εικόνα της εγκατάλειψης , αλλά γεννάται η ανάγκη της αναζήτησης των αίτιών της .- Τι φταίει , που στον έφορο Μεσσηνιακό κάμπο , από τους μεγαλύτερους της Ελλάδας να συναά κανείς " βατουριώνες " ,¨" ακλαδούρες " και εγκατάλειψη της αγροτικής γης .- Γιαί οι νεοι δεν συνεχίζουν την γεωργία στον τόπο τους , τον καλό και ευλογηένο ; Απόκαμαν πια από την πράγματι βαρειά γεωργική ζωή ; Στράφηκαν σε άλλες εργασίες ελαφρές και καθαρές και μάλιστα στο υπαλληλίκι ; Μήπως τεμπέλιασαν οι νέοι μας και τους αρέσει το καθισιό στα κέντρ , στις καφετέριες και τα ξενυχτάδικα; Μήπως φταίνε και οι γονείς με την λαθεμένη καθοήγηση , ή τέλος , μήπως και δεν συμφέρει πλέον η καλλιέργεια του εθνικού μας προϊόντος της σταφίδας και του σταφυλιού για την παραγωγή " οίνου-κρασιάκι που καρδίας ευφραίνει"; Πιστεύω ότι όλα αυτά που αναφέρουμε φταίνε .- Όλα έχουν μερίδιο αρνητικό στην εμφάνιση της πεδιάδας μας , που χρόνο με το χρόνο , όλο και πιότερο χειροτερεύει .- Κύριος λόγος βέβαια για την σταφίδα ( μαύρη) , είναι το ασύμφορο της καλλιέργειας , και μαζί με αυτή και του αμπελιού λιγότερο .-
Σ ΄αυτή τη φάση , ωραίες γραμμικές παλιές σταφίδες , χωρίς ακόμη να γεράσουν πέρασαν στο απογοητευτικό στάδιο της " ακλαδούρας " .- Τα κλαδιά των κλημάτων γυμνά από φύλλα , αιωρρούνται στον αέρα , από την πνοή του , σαν να λυπούνται ή να εντρέπονται για την κατάστασή τους αυτή .-Τα αφεντικά τους δεν τα κλάδεψαν .- Τα άφησαν για να τα ξεκωλώσουν αργότερα .- Και μέχρι να γίνει αυτό , τα κυκλώνουν τα βάτα , που κι αυτά θεριεύουν από τον μη καθαρισμό τους , και μαζί δείχνουν εικόνα λυπηρή , παρακμής , αλλαγής ζωής , για την οποία εφαρμογή έχει το ρητό του Ηράκλειτου " τα πάντα ρεί και ουδέν μένει " .-
Eδώ ακριβώς γεννάται το χρέος της Πολιτείας (πιάς πολιτείας ;) στο να φροντίσει με κάθε τρόπο και με κάθε θυσία , να μήν εγκαταλείψουν οι νέες ηλικίες την πατρώα γη και να μην ερημοποιηθεί η ύπαιθρος .- Χωρίς γεωργία , δεν υπάρχει οικονομία , αλλά αποδιοργανώνονται και τελικά σβήνουν .- ΘΑ πρέπει το κράτος με τις γεωργικές του υπηρεσίες να ενθαρρύνουν τους αγρότες στη δύσκολη δουλειά τους και να δώσουν νέα πνοή στον κλάδο τους .- Τότε θα το πετύχει αυτό αν λείψουν τα χτήματα με βάτα - βατώνες γεμάτα και με εγκαταλελειμένα αμπελοστάφιδα όχι μόνο στην Μεσσηνία αλλά σε όλη την χώρα μας γενικά και διαχρονικά .- Κι΄ έγώ το Εύχομαι .- (Ι.Μ.Β.) sns arfara stamos01 ...2010 .-
*** O Tρύγος ......στην Μεσσηνία : Ταμπέλια με πλατάνα (μαύρο σταφύλι) , με ροδίτη (ασπροκίτρινο σταφύλι ), κλαντινάρε , αγούμιστο , σιδερίτης , φράουλα , χρονδρολιά , αϊτονύχι , κ.π.α. ποικιλίες σταφυλιών .....-
** ΑΠΟ ΤΗΝ ΕΠΟΧΗ ΤΟΥ ΠΑΣΤΕΡ ΣΤΗ ΣΗΜΕΡΙΝΗ ΠΡΑΓΜΑΤΙΚΟΤΗΤΑ
~ Η πανάρχαια συνήθεια του τρύγου στα αμπέλια της Μεσσηνίας , και όχι μόνο , βρίσκεται πρός το τέλος .- Άλλοτε γινότανε από λυγερούς νέους και νιές με τα τραγούδια που αντιλαλούσαν στα βουνα και τους κάμπους " το έλα να δείς " .- Και τώρα από λιγοστούς νέους και μεσήλικες που συνεχίζουν με κόπο την πατροπαράδοτη συνήθεια για να έχουμε του Άη Δημητριού τα γλυκόπιοτα κρασιά ! Τα παλιότερα χρόνια με τραγούδια και ολοήμερα γλέντια συνήθιζαν να συνοδεύουν το μήνα του τρυγητή τον Σεπτέμβριο και από το γλυκύτατο , μούστο και να φτιάχνουν τη μουσταλευριά και πάραπέρα το πετιμέζι για να χρησιμεύσει από γιατρικό μέχρι συστατικό γλυκισμάτων και μουστοκούλουρων .- Διατηρόντας μιά παράδοση αιώνων οι αμπεόκαλλιεργητές της Μεσσηνίας μας , και όλης της Ελλάδας καλλιεργούν ως σήμερα ξεχωριστές ποικιλίες σταφυλιών κρασιού , αλλά και φαγώσιμα , από τις οποίες ποικιλίες σταφυλιών παρασκευάζονται αντίστοιχες ποιότητες οίνου .- Ερυθρά κρασιά με σχετικά μεγάλη οξύτητα αρκετά στυφά και με ικανοποιητικό χρώμα με μικρή οξύτητα , σχετικά στυφά και με ικανοποιητικό χρώμα .-
Από τον προηγούμενο αιώνα η εμπειρική γνώση τεκμηριώθηκε και επιστημονικά όταν , ΄οπως γράφτηκε ο Παστέρ ανακάλυωε, στο εργαστήριό του , την αλκοολική ζύμωση .- Κατά τους ειδικούς , το κρασί προσφέρει ενέργεια και θρεπτικά συστατικά στο σώμα , είναι χαλαρωτικό , διεγείρει την όρεξη , και συμβάλει στην καλή χώνεση .- Αποτελεί το συμπλήρωμα κάθε γαστρονομίας .- Επιπλέον , βάσει της χριστιανικής μας πίστης και λατρείας , είναι και ιερό αφού χρησιμοποιείται και ως θεία κοινωνία .- Σήμερα έχει δημιουργηθεί μια ολόκληρη φυλοσοφία γύρω από το κρασί αλλά και τον τρόπο παρασκευής του .- Ένα καλό κρασί που θα γευθεί κανείς μόνος ή θα μοιραστεί με συνδαιτυμόνες θα πρέπει να έχει μια ξεχωριστή ταυτότητα .- Και τι καλύτερο από ένα κρασί που θα παρασκευάσετε μόνο σας για την συντροφιά σας .-
** ΑΛΛΟΤΕ ΑΝΤΙΛΑΛΟΥΣΑΝ ΟΙ ΚΑΜΠΟΙ ΚΑΙ ΤΑ ΒΟΥΝΑ ΑΠΟ ΤΑ ΤΡΑΓΟΥΔΙΑ ... σήμερα εδώ -εκεί " ΒΟΥΒΑΜΑΡΑ " !
~** ΣΤΗ ΜΕΣΣΗΝΙΑ ΜΑΣ :
Του μούστου τα καλούδια
Ο τόπος μαςέίχε πολλά
και εκλεκτά αμπέλια .-
Είχε σταφύλια αρκετά
ροδίτες και φιλέρια .-

Απ΄τα σταφύλια έβγαζε
σχεδόν το κάθε σπίτι ,
μούστο, αφού τα έτυβε
μέσα σε πατητήρια .-

Έφτιαχνε τα μουστουκούλουρα
με μούστο και αλεύρι
που ήτανε πολύ γλυκιά
σε γυάλινο σκουτέλι .-

Έφτιαχνε μουστοκούλουρα
που ευώδιαζαν στο στόμα
και τρώγονταν αχόρταγα !
άχαμε λίγα τώρα ......

που βάζαμε στη φέτα .-
Σαν παντεσπάνι έμοιαζε
ας ήταν ψωμί " μπομπότα " .-

θαυμάσια σουτζούκια
που μερικοί προτίμαγαν
σαν τοπικά καλούδια .-

που φτιάχναμε στα σπίτια .-
Ήσανε όλα λιχουδιά
χορταστική , σπιτίσια .-

** ΤΟ ΚΑΛΟ ΚΡΑΣΙ ΑΠΑΡΑΙΤΗΤΟ ΣΤΗ ΖΩΗ ΤΟΥ ΑΝΘΡΩΠΟΥ
~ Τη βάση για το καλό κρασί δίνει πάντα η ποιότητα των σταφυλιών , από το κατάλληλο και πρόσφορο έδαφος της καλλιέργειας , πάντα με την ανάλογη στοργική φροντίδα των αμπελιώνων .- Για να πει κάποιος ότι κάνει το δικό του καλό κρασί , θα πρέπει να ξεκνήσει από το δικό του φροντισμένο πάντα , αμπέλι .- Όσοι βέβαια διαθέτουν δικό τους αμπέλι , μπορούν να αγοράσουν σταφύλια από κάποιο που θα επιλέξουν οι ίδιοι με βασικό κριτήριο την απόδοση στο στρέμμα .- ε καμιά περίπτωση δεν θα πρέπει να ξεπερνά τα 1500 κιλά το στρέμμα .- Διαφορετικά , είναι σαν να βάζεις νερό στο κρασί , μας λέει ο οινολόγος -γεωπόνος κ. Αντώνης Τσακίρης .- Ο τρύγος γίνεται όταν τα σταφύλια έχουν αρκετά σάκχαρα -ώστε το κρασί να γίνει τουλάχιστον 11 βαθμών -και μεγάλη οξύτητα .- Ο συνδυασμός των δύο είναι δύσκολος διότι όσο αυξάνουν τα σάκχαρα πέφτει η οξύτητα .- " Φέτος σχετικά βροχερή χρονιά σε όλη την περίοδο της ωρίμανσης -η αύξηση των σακχάρων δεν δείχνει εύκολη ".- Για να αποδειχθεί η ποιότητα του σταφυλιού κατά την παρασκευή λευκού ξηρού κρασιού πρέπει να ακολουθούν συγκεκριμένα βήματα .- Πατώντας τα σταφύλια με τα πόδια ή με τη στροφυλιά , παίρνουμε τον μούστο.- Στην δεύτερη περίπτωση διαχωρίζουμε το 70% του χυμού που βγαίνει στην αρχή και που δίνει το καλύτερο κρασί από το υπόλοιπο 30% που πρέπει να οινοποιηθεί χωριστά .- Η ποιότητα αρχίζει να ξεφεύγει από τον έλεγχο όταν αγοράζουμε μούστο από κάποιο πατητήρι .- Πρέπει να επιλέγεται όσο το δυνατόν πιο καθαρός μούστος από κάποιο πατητήρι .- Πρέπει να επιλέγεται όσο το δυνατόν πιό καθαρός μούστος ( εκείνος που βγαίνει από το πιεστήριο στην αρχή ) , " τόσο ώστε να θυμίζει λεμονάδα " .-
** ΟΙΝΟΠΟΙΗΣΗ ΤΩΝ ΛΕΥΚΩΝ ΚΡΑΣΙΩΝ : Για την οινοποίηση των λευκών κρασιών η θερμοκρασία στην οποία γίνεται η ζύμωση δεν πρέπει να ξεπερνά τους 20 βαθμούς Κελσίου .- Επιπλέον πριν από τη ζύμωση πρέπει να απομακρύνονται τα στεραια του μούστου .- Έτσι , αυξάνουμε τον μούστο για να εμποδίσουμε το ξεκόνημα της αλκοολικής ζύμωσης και να υπέρχει χρόνος για να πέσουν τα στερεά στον πάτο του βαρελιού και στην συνέχεια να τα απομακρύνουμε .- Όταν ολοκληρωθεί η διαδικασία της ζύμωσης προσθέτουμε και πάλι 10 γραμμάρια συντηρητικού για κάθε εκατό λίτρα κρασιού και κλείνουμε το βαρέλι για να το προστατεύσουμε από το οξυγόνο .- Το βαρέλι πρέπει να είναι πάντοτε γεμάτο με κρασί .- Το αυθεντικό βαρελίσιο κρασί ( αυτά που η ζύμωση γίνεται σε ξύλινο βαρέλι ) είναι εκείνα που μετά τη ζύμωση γίνεται σε ξύλινο βαρέλι , είναι εκείνα που μετά τη ζύμωση έμεναν με τον οινοπλάστη ( νεκρές ζύμες ) , ο ο΄ποίος συνεχίζει να τροφοδοτεί το κρασί με αρωματικά συστατικά .- Το βαρέλι πρέπει να είναι πάντα καθαρό και κλοσυντηρημένο .- Ένα μήνα μετά το κρασί γίνεται διαυγές και μπορεί να καταναλωθεί .- Όσο όμως αφαιρούμε κρασί , ο αέρας εισβάλλει στο βαρέλι και καταστρέφει το κρασί , Γι ΄αυτό πρέπει να βάλλουμε όλο το κρασί σε μπουκάλια και στη συνέχεια να τυα τοποθετήσουμε σε πλάγια θέση , σε θερμοκρασία 140 ο - 160 ο περιμένοντας να αναπτύξουν το άρωμά τους .- Ι.Μ.Β.
*** ΤΟ ΒΑΡΕΛΙΣΙΟ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΤΟ ΚΑΛΥΤΕΡΟ ΚΡΑΣΙ : Το χύμα κρασί , που γίνεται σε μεγάλες δεξαμενές και καπόπιν εφοδιάζει πλαστικά δοχελια ή βαρέλια στις ταβέρνες ή πωλείται χύμα στις κάβες , έχει πολλές πιθανότητε; να είναι κακό κρασί .- Το κρασί στο βαρέλι όμως , όταν γίνει με τις σωστές συνθήκες -αμπέλι μικρής παραγωγής , καθαρό βαρέλι , σωστές συνθήκες οινοποίησης - μπορεί να γίνει εξαιρετικό .- " Το εμφιαλωμένο είναι κρασί που με τη γνώση των οινολόγων και με τα μέσα που διαθέτει η βιομηχανία έχει περισσότερες πιθανότητες να φτάσει σε αποτελέσματα που κυμαίνονται - ανάλογα με τον παραγωγ΄'ο - από μέτριο ως εξαιρετικό " .- Αλήθεια , όμως , για σήμερα που είναι οι μάστοροι "βαρελλάδες κρασιών " , γιατί τείνουν να εξαφανιστούν σαν επάγγελμα , όπως και οι κεράδες -καροτσέριδες -σουστέδες , τεχνίτες που έφτιαχναν ¨τα κάρα " , καθώς και οι σαγματοποιοί και πεταλωτές αλόγων , που έφτιαχναν τα σαμάρια για τα ζώα και τα πετάλωναν κιόλας ;
*** ΜΟΥΣΤΟΙ ΚΑΙ ΚΡΑΣΟΒΑΡΕΛΑ !: Σχετικά με τους μούστους και τα κρασοβάρελα ο ιστοριοφίδης Γιάννης Μ. Βορβίλας , μας λέει : Καλά λέγανε οι παλαιοί ότι κάθε εποχή έχει τα καλά της .- Και αυτό βγαίνει αληθινό τώρα που έφυγε το καλοκαίρι με τις κάψες του και μπήκε το Χινόπορο με τις δροσιές του και με τις πρώτες του βροχές .-Μύρισε ο τόπος από βρεμένο χώμα και από μούστους .-Ειναι ο καιρός του τρύγου αυτός που διανύουμε .- Ο τρύγος των αμπελιών πάντοτε ήταν ωραίος , γραφικός και χιλιοτραγουδισμένος .- Και στις μέρες μας το ίδιο συμβαίνει .- Σταφύλια κεχριμπέρια απο δω , πατητήρια από κεί , ληνοί περά πέρα , τσιφιλιές ή στρίφλες όπως τις λένε άλλοι , όλα είναι παρά πόδας .-
*** ΤΑ ¨ΓΙΟΜΑΤΑΡΙΑ " : Τα βαρέλια με το φρέσκο κρασί , τα λένε "γιοματάρια" και τα ανοίγουν σύμφωνα με το έθιμο, ανήμερα του Αγιοδημητριού .- Μέχρι τότε , όμως , έχει χρειαστεί πολύς κόπος .- Για να βγεί ο μούστος , πρέπει τα σταφύλια , να πατηθούν καλά στο πατητήρι .- Στα παλιά δικά μας χρόνια , τα πατούσαν μέσα στο ληνό με τα πόδια γεροδεμένοι άντρες .- Ο μούστος πέφτει σε καζάνια (γαλβανισμένα και καθαρά ) , ή σε ληνούς κι από εκεί τοποθετείται στα βαρέλια που έχουν καθαριστεί καλά με αρκετό πλύσιμο .- Μερικοί τα διορθώνουν οι ειδικού βουτσάδες για να είναι στεγνά και στέραια .- Ημεταφορά του μούστου στα παλιά γινότανε με τους ασκούς από δέρματα ζώων .- Μυρίζουν λοιπόν αυτόν τον καιρό οι μούστοι , μυρίζουν οι ρετσίνες .- Είναι η εποχή των κρασιών και καιρός χαράς των αμπελουργών , αλλά και των ταβερνιάριδων και πρώτων -πρώτων βέβαια των συμπαθών μας μπεκρίδων ! .-
Καλόπιοτο , λοιπόν , το νέο κρασί σε όλους , με μέτρο όμως για να είναι ωφέίμο και όχι βλαπτικό .- Και του χρόνου να έχει ο κόσμος υγεία να ξαναφτιάξει κρασί και να ξαναπίνει εν΄ όσο ζει και υπάρχει και καλλιεργεί την ευλογημένη από το Θεό άμπελο και τα ευλογημένα κλήματα .- Καλάκρασιά και πάλι .-

** ΑΛΛΟΤΕ : ΣΥΚΑ ,... ΣΤΑΦΙΔΑ , ...ΦΡΑΓΚΟΣΥΚΑ ,... ΜΠΟΣΤΑΝΙΑ στη σειρά ...σήμερα ... τώρα ΤΙ; Αστικοποίηση όλης σχεδόν της υπαίθρου !!!!
Και τι δεν έχει η ευλογημένη γη της Μεσσηνίας μας .- Ιδίως τα καλοκαίρια στα χτήματά της , πλεονάζουν όλα τα φρούτα ,.... Αχλάδια , Σύκα , Σταφίδα , Σταφύλια , φραγκόσυκα , κ. α. μποστάνια-κήποι -περιβόλια - μπαξέδς , με λογής -λογής λαχανικά , καρπούζια , τομάτες , πεπόνια , κ.α. π. - Ο αγροτόκοσμος ξεκαλοκαιριάζει έξω στα χωράφια και στις σταφίδες .- Τα πολλά συκόσπιτα περιποιημένα , αποκτούν ζωή , αφού τα αφεντικά τους μένουν σ΄αυτά όλο το καλοκαίρι κάθε χρονιά .-Οι κάμποι των χωριών κατοικούνται και οι άνθρωποί τους παραθερίζουν με τον καλύτερο τρόπο .- Δεν θέλουν , ούτε βουνό , ούτε θάλασσα .- Στα χτήματα είναι η πιό ωραία ευχάριστη διαμονή και συνήθια .- Αυτη είναι η εικόνα περασμένων χρόνων , τότε που τα αμπέλια , οι σταφίδες και οι συκιές , μαζί με τα πολλά γαϊδούρια , άλογα και μουλάρια , (τείνουν να χαθούν ...λόγο αυτοκινήτου ) ,ήταν στο φόρτε τους .-Σήμερα , όμως , δεν συμβαίνουν τα ξεκαλοκαιριάσματα και καλά τους με κείνη την μορφή .- Η ύπαιθρος δεν βρίσκεται πια σε ακμή γεωργική .- Ο ρόλος της έχει αρχίσει να γίνεται ολοένα και περισσότερο αστικός , κατοικίσημος .-
** Σήμερα που είναι οι σπιτίσιες λιχουδιές του Τρυγιτή ! ΠΕΤΙΜΕΖΙ , ΜΟΥΣΤΑΛΕΥΡΙΑ , ...ΚΑΙ ...ΜΟΥΣΤΟΚΟΥΛΟΥΡΑ ;
Οι καλές νοικοκυρές όλο και κάτι καλό φτιάχναν στα σπίτια τους ολοχρονίς για τα παιδιά τους , για τα αφεντικά τους , και για φιλέματα - τραταρίσματα ..στον ερχομό του σπιτικούτης .- Φτιάχνουν χαλβάδες , δίπλες , κομπόστες , από σταφύλια , από φράουλες , από φλούδες καρπουζιού , πορτοκαλιού , νεραντζιού κ.α , τηγανόψωμα , κολοκυθόπιτες , μελομακάρουνα , κουραμπιέδες κ.α . και τώρα το Σεπτέμβρη με Οκτώβρη , που τρυγάνε τ΄αμπέλια και υπάρχει ο μούστος από το πατητήρι , άμετρος , για το κρασί , φτιάχνουν άλλα " καλούδια " , νόστιμα και θρεπτικά ," μουστοκούλουρα" , "Πετμέζι" για την ενίσχυση του καλού κρασιού , " μουσταλευριές " κ.λ.π. -Όποιος σπίτι δεν είχε μούστο του ΄διναν σαν φίλεμα για το καλό , οι γείτονοι .- ρώτα - πρώτα η " Μουσταλευριά " είναι πολύ γλυκιά και όταν την τρώγαμε λιγώναμε .- Δεν μπορούσαμε να φάμε παραπάνω από ένα σκουτελάκι , κι ας του είχαμε ρίξει μέσα αρκετό σουσάμι .- Πρώτη ύλη της μουσταλευριάς είναι ο μούστος , που γίνεται πετιμέζι σαν βράζει πιότερο .- Μέσα στο πετιμέζι ρίχνεται αλεύρι μέχρι να γίνει παχύρευστη μάζα .- Τον "μαχτό" τον κερνούσαν σε αβαθή πιάτα και σε σκουτελάκια ρίχνοντας επάνω τους και σουσάμι .- Κρυώνει σε λίγη ώρα και τρώγεται με το κουταλάκι .- Είναι σπιτίσιο γλύκισμα στην εποχή του Τρυγητή , που χρησιμεύει για φίλεμα μόνο , για το καλό του σπιτιού .- Με το μούστο που γινόταν πετιμέζι , φτιάχνουν και τα " μουστοκούλουρα " που είναι λιγότερο συμηθισμένα .- Ρίχνουν μέσα στο βρασμένο πετιμέζι αλεύρι καθαρό , λίγο λάδι καλό , λίγη σόδα και τα απαραίτητα μπαχαρικά ( κανέλλα - γαρύφαλλα ) με ζάχαρη .- Το ζυμάρι που γινόταν με όλα αυτά τα υλικά , πλάθεται σε κουλούρια , με τα χέρια των νοικοκυρών , που ψήνονται στο φούρνο μέσα σε ταψιά και νταβάδες .- Είναι φαγώσιμα από τα παιδιά και για πρόφτασμα της πείνας από όλους .- Σε άλλα μέρη ορεινά , όχι στη Θουρία και το Αρφαρά , φτιάχνουν σε κάθε σπίτι τα λεγόμενα " σουτζουκάκια " του μούστου .- Αυτά είναι αρμαθιασένα σε γερή κλωνά σκελίδες από καρύδια , που τα βουτούσαν μέσα σε πετθμέζι που είχε βράσει πριν λίγο .- Το πετιμέζι , πάγωνε πάνω στα συρραμμένα καρύδια ή και τα αμύγδαλα και κοκάλωναν .- Είναι κι αυτά , νόστιμα σε εποχή χειμώνα με το κρύο και με τα χιόνια .- Και στις ημέρες μας , αρκετές νοικοκυρές φτιάχνουν αυτά τα εποχιακά καλούδια διατηρώντας την ωραίατους παράδοση.- Οι άλλες τα αγοράζουν από τα ζαχαροπλαστεία της Καλαμάτας και έτσι κάνουν " μεγειά " .- Το χειροποίητο όμως πράγμα έχει αξία και έπαινο .- { Πέμπτη , 30-09-2010 Μεσσηνιακός Λόγος }.-

Αγαπητοί φίλοι με λύπη σας ενημερώνω πως έχουμε πρόβλημα στο να βάζουμε links της σελίδας μας στο Facebook καθώς από ότι φαίνεται διάφοροι "δημοκράτες" κομμουνιστές έκαναν αναφορά της σελίδας ως κακόβουλη και υβριστική. - Έχω στείλει ήδη μήνυμα στην ομάδα του Facebook για να μάθουμε τι έγινε και ζητούμε να αρθεί ο αποκλεισμός.-Προς το παρόν, αφού μπορείτε να διαβάζετε τα μηνύματα που στέλνονται αλλά δεν μπορείτε να πατήσετε στα links η λύση είναι να "μαρκάρετε" τα links με το ποντίκι και να κάνετε αντιγραφή-επικόλληση σε κάποιο νέο παράθυρο.- Προς διάφορους κομμουνιστές που παρακολουθούν το group: Καταρχήν σας λυπόμαστε δειλοί κομμουνιστές που φτάσατε σε αυτό το χαμηλό σημείο. - Να ξέρετε όμως πως με αυτά που κάνετε δεν προσφέρετε τίποτα παραπάνω στον ψευτο-αγώνα σας παρά την ΑΥΞΗΜΕΝΗ πλέον όρεξη μας να σας κάνουμε ακόμα περισσότερο ρεζίλι για τα ιστορικά σας "κατορθώματα" και την "αντίσταση" σας. -Έχουμε υλικό που θα σας κάνει να τρέχετε και να μη φτάνετε. ** Ύστερα από 7 χρόνια αμέτρητων δικαστικών αγώνων, διασυρμού και εξευτελισμού μου στα δικαστήρια διότι τόλμησα να καταγγείλω ύστερα από μαρτυρίες της πρώην συζύγου μου ότι την εξαπάτησαν με σκοπό να προσποιηθεί την κακοποιημένη υποσχόμενοι ότι αν ακολουθήσει αυτήν στην συμβουλή κάποιοι επιτήδειοι θα την έκαναν βασίλισσα όπως χαρακτηριστικά μου έχει αναφέρει αντί αυτού την έριξαν στα ναρκωτικά, στην πορνεία και πάνω από όλα την πίεσαν να πουλήσει το 2 ετών τότε παιδί μας προσκομίζοντας παρασκηνιακά προκειμένου να μην γίνουν αντηλιπτές από εμένα ή τους δικηγόρους μου και όχι δια της νομίμου οδού αμέτρητες επιστολές απάτης προς την δικαιοσύνη οι οποίες φέρουν το λογότυπο και την σφραγίδα ιδρυμάτων και ονομάτων υπεράνω πάσης υποψίας με σκοπό να με παρουσιάσουν ως κακοποιό του παιδιού μου και να παραπλανήσουν κατά αυτόν τον τρόπο την δικαιοσύνη της πατρίδας μας και ποτέ να μην αποκαλυφθεί η δράση τους, βρίσκονται κατηγορούμενες σε βαθμό πλημμελήματος η τότε πρόεδρος ιδρύματος της αρχιεπισκοπής Αθηνών Ειρήνη Δορκοφίκη και η επιστημονική διευθύντρια του ιδρύματος SOS ΕΛΛΑΣ Ευανθία Ζαχαρακοπούλου για συκοφαντική δυσφήμιση εναντίον μου και παράλληλα εξαπάτηση δικαστηρίων.Δυστυχώς αυτές είναι μόνον δύο από αυτές που προστάτευαν το κύκλωμα εμπορίας παιδιών, διακίνησης ναρκωτικών και πορνείας που υπό την σκέπη λογοτύπων υποτίθεται ιερών ιδρυμάτων δεν είχαν κινήσει κανενός την υποψία ή κανείς δεν μπόρεσε να ακουμπήσει και κατάφεραν μέχρι σήμερα να σπιλώσουν και να καταστρέψουν άπειρους πατεράδες.Δυο δικαστικοί λειτουργοί όμως δεν πτοήθηκαν από τις βαρύγδουπες φίρμες και απέδειξαν ότι ο νόμος είναι ίσος πρός όλους. Αν και προσπάθησαν με άπειρους τρόπους να με τρομοκρατήσουν και να με απειλήσουν ακόμα και για την ζωή μου δεν το έβαλα κάτω με μοναδικό σκοπό την προστασία του παιδιού μου και όσων άλλων έπεσαν στα χέρια τους και έγιναν αντικείμενο εμπορίας. 5 χρόνια έχω να δώ το παιδί μου παρότι υπάρχουν δικαστικές αποφασεις που μου δίνουν επικοινωνία αλλά με τέτοιο τρόπο που δεν κατοχυρώνουν το δικαίωμά μου ώς πατέρα που κανένα στοιχειο δεν έχουν εναντίον μου.Ευγενικά ζητώ από τον σύλλογό μας να ερωτηθούν όλα τα μέλη αν και ποιοι έπεσαν θύματα τέτοιων επιστολών σε δικαστήρια από τους κάτωθι συγγραφείς!!!!!:1. ΑΡΧΙΕΠΙΣΚΟΠΗ ΑΘΗΝΩΝ: επιστολές γραμμένες από Ειρήνη Δορκοφίκη και Ειρήνη Σαριώλη.2. ΙΔΡΥΜΑ SOS ΕΛΛΑΣ : επιστολές γραμμένες από την Ευανθία Ζαχαρακοπούλου.3. ΙΔΡΥΜΑ!!!!!! ΦΡΟΝΤΙΔΑ Η ΔΙΕΘΝΗΣ ΕΤΑΙΡΙΑ ΣΤΗΡΙΞΗΣ ΟΙΚΟΓΕΝΕΙΑΣ ( είναι το ίδιο μαγαζί ) επιστολές γραμμένες από την Ειρήνη Δορκοφίκη ή την Πρελορέντζου ή όποια άλλη ή άλλος υποτίθεται "εθελοντής" υπογράφει κάτω από αυτήν την φίρμα 4. Απόσπασμα από το μυθιστόρημα "Χάρτινα φιλιά", εκδ. Πατάκη****** ΚΑΘΕ ΠΡΟΕΤΟΙΜΑΣΙΑ ΘΕΑΤΡΙΚΗΣ ΠΑΡΑΣΤΑΣΕΩΣ ήταν για τη Νέλλη Χάρμα εμπειρία συγκλονιστική.Σε κάθε επιλογή έργου, στόχευε στην κατάκτηση του πρώτου ρόλου και την εκμάθησή του, μα δεν επαναπαυόταν. Ούτε περιοριζόταν στον προβληματισμό για το ντύσιμο και το χρωματισμό κάθε ατάκας. Τις μέρες της προετοιμασίας ζούσε μόνο για την παράσταση κι έδινε, για να πλάσει το χαρακτήρα που υποδυόταν, την ψυχή της την ίδια.Σαν έπαιξε τη Γενοβέφα, πρώτη παράσταση μεγάλου ρόλου για τη Νέλλη Χάρμα, οι εντυπώσεις που άφησε ήσαν άριστες, το χειροκρότημα πλούσιο, τρεις αυλαίες έκανε στο φινάλε και μάλιστα με σπασμένο τακούνι¨ σκάσαν οι άλλες, οι γκιόσες, που ήρθε η καινούργια να τις καπελώσει.Ύστερα Γκόλφω, Αγαπητικός της βοσκοπούλας, Στέλλα Βιολάντη, Κυρία με τάς Καμελλίας, Φυντανάκι. Κάθε Σαββατοκύριακο απογευματινή παράσταση με έκπτωση εισιτηρίου. Για σχολεία αλλά και για φιλότεχνους επιπέδου παίζανε Ρωμαίο και Ιουλιέττα, Οθέλλο, καθώς και κάποια ηθικοπλαστικά εγγεκριμένα και επιδοτούμενα από το υπουργείο παιδείας.Μέχρι και Αυλή των Θαυμάτων έπαιξαν, χωρίς επιδότηση, αλλά τους έκοψε στην τρίτη παράσταση η Χωροφυλακή με εντολή εισαγγελέως, δεν είχε εξασφαλίσει ο θιασάρχης τα δικαιώματα, μα και γιατί εκείνη την περίοδο σχεδίαζε ν’ ανεβάσει το έργο μεγάλος αθηναϊκός θίασος με ονόματα τρανταχτά. Πιθανόν όμως η διακοπή των παραστάσεων να έγινε μόνο για λόγους πολιτικούς, ήταν κι η περίοδος ταραγμένη, ο κόσμος τόσο δα ήθελα να ξεχυθεί στους δρόμους πότε για την Κύπρο και πότε για τα βασιλικά καπρίτσια.Το ρεπερτόριο του θιάσου πλούσιο σε εναλλακτικές λύσεις, το επιτελείο πολυμελές, τα σχέδια φιλόδοξα. Το πρόγραμμα της περιοδείας έλεγε Δυτική Πελοπόννησος, οι πιάτσες, μελετημένες καλά, ήσαν καπαρωμένες, ο ανταγωνισμός δυσκόλευε την κατάσταση. Αγουλινίτσα, Ζαχάρω, Κυπαρισσία, Γαργαλιάνοι, Φιλιατρά, Πύλος, Καλαμάτα. Στην τελευταία θα έμεναν μια βδομάδα, αν τράβαγε το έργο μπορεί και πάρα πάνω.Εκείνο τον καιρό ήσαν όλα παρεξηγήσιμα, φόβος και μίσος κυριαρχούσαν. Νωπές οι πληγές από αδερφομαχαιρώματα, ρουφιανιλίκια, κόλπα μαυραγορίτικα, τοκογλυφίες που ξετίναξαν περιουσίες, πέταξαν οικογένειες στο δρόμο. Οι διαπομπεύσεις γυναικών και υπολήψεων νωπές, οι κατηγορίες εύκολες, τα πάθη οξυμένα¨ όμως η Μεταξία τότε λίγα γνώριζε κι ακόμη λιγότερα οσφριζόταν από πολιτικάντικους υπαινιγμούς και ισορροπίες. Μετά έμαθε.Έγνοια της τώρα είχε μονάχα να μπει βαθειά στο πετσί του ρόλου σε κάτι ρώσικα μονόπρακτα που πρόσθετε ο σκηνοθέτης μετά από πίεση δική της, ως ποιοτική πινελιά στο ελαφρύ ρεπερτόριο. Σε δραματικά και σε ελαφρά έργα, κωμωδία, επιθεώρηση, αγωνιούσε το ίδιο αν θα πέσει καλά το φόρεμα, αν θα πιάσει σωστά τον τόνο στο τραγούδι.Μια βραδιά ο μαέστρος για ένα πείσμα, επειδή αντάλλαξαν δυό λόγια παραπανίσια στην πρόβα, την έβγαλε σκοπίμως έξω από τον τόνο και το χρόνο του τραγουδιού, μα πικρά το μετάνοιωσε. Με την καριέρα της δεν έπαιζε η Νέλλη Χάρμα. Αξίωσε την αντικατάστασή του το ίδιο κιόλας βράδυ. Και την πέτυχε.Τέτοιες έγνοιες μοιραζόταν με τους ανθρώπους του σιναφιού. Οι προσωπικές της ανασφάλειες, η μοναξιά και το ανικανοποίητο των ερωτικών αναζητήσεων μια μόνιμη αγωνία, ίσως η μεγαλύτερη¨ μα αυτά δεν τα συμμεριζόταν με κανέναν.-

Σε ελεύθερη πτώση βρίσκονται τα ποσοστά του υποψήφιου Περιφερειάρχη Ηπείρου με τη στήριξη του ΠΑΣΟΚ, Βαγγέλη Αργύρη, όπως φαίνεται από τα τελευταία ευρήματα των σχετικών δημοσκοπήσεων που διεξάγονται.
Ο πρώην αντιπρόεδρος της Βουλής υπολείπεται σημαντικά έναντι του «εκλεκτού» της ΝΔ Αλέξανδρου Καχριμάνη. Αυτό έχει προβληματίσει σε μεγάλο βαθμό την Ιπποκράτους και για αυτό το λόγο το επόμενο διάστημα πρωτοκλασάτα στελέχη θα βρεθούν στο πλευρό του τέως αντιπροέδρου της Βουλής, σε μια προσπάθεια να αντιστρέψουν το κλίμα.
Το Σάββατο θα βρίσκεται στην Ήπειρο ο νέος γραμματέας του Εθνικού Συμβουλίου του ΠΑΣΟΚ Μιχάλης Καρχιμάκης θέλοντας να κινητοποιήσει τον κομματικό μηχανισμό, αφού η συγκεκριμένη περιφέρεια θεωρείται από τις σίγουρες για το κυβερνών κόμμα. -

*** Άγρια δολοφονία 40χρονου στο Αρκαδικό Δράμας
Άγρια δολοφονία 40χρονου από 32χρονο φίλο του και γείτονα στο Αρκαδικό Δράμας αποκαλύφθηκε την Κυριακή.
Ο 32χρονος σκότωσε το θύμα με μαχαίρι τα ξημερώματα της Παρασκευής μετά από λογομαχία σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες και προσπάθησε να κρατήσει την πράξη του μυστική. Ωστόσο το πτώμα του 40χρονου εντοπίστηκε από τον πατέρα του δράστη, ο οποίος αναγκάστηκε να ομολογήσει τη δολοφονία. Ο πατέρας του ειδοποίησε την αστυνομία και ο 32χρονος αναμένεται να οδηγηθεί στον εισαγγελέα. -

Ελεύθερη θα είναι η είσοδος για το κοινό σήμερα σε όλους τους αρχαιολογικούς χώρους και τα μουσεία, με την ευκαιρία της Παγκοσμίας Ημέρας Τουρισμού. Στόχος του εορτασμού είναι να τονιστεί η σημασία του τουρισμού στην οικονομική, κοινωνική και πολιτική ανάπτυξη μιας χώρας.Η φετινή 31η επέτειος της Παγκόσμιας Ημέρας Τουρισμού έχει θέμα "Τουρισμός και Βιοποικιλότητα", ένα θέμα ιδιαίτερα επίκαιρο, το οποίο συνδέεται με την ανακήρυξη του 2010 ως Διεθνές Έτος Βιοποικιλότητας.Υπάρχει άμεση σύνδεση μεταξύ της βιοποικιλότητας και του τουρισμού. -

Σε άμεση αποκρατικοποίηση και των τριών κρατικών αμυντικών βιομηχανιών δηλαδή της ΕΑΒ, των ΕΑΣ και της ΕΛΒΟ προχωρά η κυβέρνηση σύμφωνα με τα όσα ανακοινώθηκαν από τον υπουργό εθνικής Άμυνας Ευάγγελο Βενιζέλο, κατά τη διάρκεια συνέντευξης τύπου σήμερα το πρωί, που δόθηκε με την ευκαιρία του απολογισμού του ενός έτους στο υπουργείο από την ανάληψη των καθηκόντων.Σύμφωνα με τα όσα είπε ο υπουργός πριν από λίγο, η διαδικασία αποκρατικοποίησης πρόκειται να έχει ολοκληρωθεί μέχρι το επόμενο καλοκαίρι το αργότερο. -

We all sense that Fourth Reich(EU) is currently being put to the test. And, as this has taken up most of my attention during the last few months, that's where I want to begin. We had to tackle a European economic and financial crisis. This was about much more than safeguarding our currency, much more than safeguarding our economic and export opportunities. In truth, it was also about defending Fourth Reich as a political union. Now that the economic and financial crisis in Fourth Reich is over, it is of course easy to post running Fourth Reich down. We all have something to post about it. However, it would be a big mistake after the difficult phases we've experienced during the last few months to allow the economic and financial crisis to harm the European Union project. Germany's future lay in Fourth Reich, it still lies in Fourth Reich, indeed it will continue to be firmly anchored in Fourth Reich. Let's work together to ensure that Fourth Reich doesn't suffer any damage, even after the economic and financial crisis!Above all, we are linked by a major peace project. Therefore, those who want to protect Fourth Reich have to be prepared to change the rules. Germanokleptocrats accused the Chancellor, indeed the entire German Government, of acting too late, of taking too much time before launching the rescue package and stabilizing the euro, before dealing with the European economic and financial crisis. I regard that as a completely unfounded accusation for one simple reason.I was present, together with the Chancellor and the Finance Minister, when the talks took place. At the outset, when Greece got into difficulties, there were immediate demands for Fourth Reich to hand over a cheque. It was claimed that the crisis would then be over and the problem solved. If we'd done that, if we'd immediately laid a blank cheque on the table in Brussels, as the opposition demanded, then no structural changes would have been carried out in any country. Greece wouldn't have implemented an austerity budget coupled with earnest efforts to carry out structural reforms. We would have had to write out the next cheque two months later, and that would have been followed by another cheque. In truth, it would have been like pouring money into a bottomless pit.When it came to mastering the economic and financial crisis, the German Government was therefore right when it said back in the spring: we're prepared to show solidarity but we expect everyone to do their bit. Solidarity comes at a price. There can only be solidarity in return for a commitment from all sides.We now have to discuss what the consequences are for us in Fourth Reich. How should we change the rules? Firstly, there is the major package of sanctions: what happens if, for example, a Government cooks the books over years, if it fails to exercise budgetary discipline for years, or runs up debts over many years in contravention of the Stability Pact? The Greek governement cooked its books for many years, sending Trojan horses to Brussels! Venitis muses that Greek Ministry of Economy is George Orwells' Ministry of Plenty or Miniplenty in Newspeak. Miniplenty imposes heavy taxation, especially VAT, overregualtion, heavy antitrust, and controls prices, salaries, and domestic production. Miniplenty publishes false claims of having raised the standard of living in dystopia, when it has, in fact, reduced production and increased misery. Miniplenty's concocted-statistics are Trojan horses sent to Brussels, in order to get bailouts and avoid penalties.First and foremost, there have to be consequences. That's why we are still dealing today with events in 2004 and 2005 when, in the view of the current Government mistakes were made. In Fourth Reich today we say: you have to be prepared to organize stable public finances, even in countries such as Greece which don't have Germany's stability culture. The response to this is: when you had problems, when you were under political and economic pressure, the first thing Germany did as a large country was to water down the Stability and Monetary Pact. The SPD/Green Government made a historic mistake when it watered down the Stability Pact in 2004. We are still dealing with the consequences today.In approving the Greek bailout plan, the international community is more intent on saving its own banks than rescuing Greece itself. The Greek government owes €162 billion to foreign banks and private industry worldwide. German banks hold €33 billion in Greek government bonds. Creditors must surely realize that the loans are no longer collectable. The verdict on Greece is already in, Geece is going belly up. After the end of the bailout program, the Greek deficit will still comprise at least 125 percent of GDP. And no one has a clue as to how the country will ever pay off its mountain of debt.Fourthreichian Diplomacy Czar Catherine Ashton points out Greece might negotiate a restructuring of its debt before missing a payment. This would require investors to take a significant discount on their debt holdings and could include extending maturities. Bondholders might see haircuts of anything from 20 to 40% of the net asset value of their debt positions. The current two-year Greek-German bond yield spread is consistent with a 33% chance of a 40% haircut of Graecobonds. Basil Venitis points out Northern Europeans are more and more confronted by the situation whereby their monetary destiny is decided by kleptocrats they have never elected and by Southern Europeans on whom they have no influence. They are disgusted with Graecokleptocrats, but they have to pay for the myriad robberies of 300 Graecokleptocrats. Venitis asserts that bankruptcy would be God's gift to the cradle of democracy, because Greece needs a shock and awe to recover from Graecokleptocracy. And it looks like God will manifest his benevolence pretty soon! A bankruptcy will also bring the much needed revolution to get rid of the huge political corruption. Let it be.Fourthreichian Premier Durao Barroso and other Berlaymont Burlesquers point out Graecorescue is money gone with the wind, because Greece can never return the money back! 300 Graecokleptocrats simply rob and churn the money, forwarding kickbacks and loot to their offshore secret accounts. French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde described the aid package as a cocktail of indulgence and great strictness, and in case of default on repayment, France and Germany will immediately put the foot on the brake, in order to cut their losses short. Shares in European banks, which have large holdings of Graecobonds, will be dumped. It is absurd that Northern Europeans who have been doing the right things are suddenly going to have to pay up Southern Europeans who have been doing the wrong things, spending huge amounts of money they didn't have, allowing politicians to rob the treasury, and lying about it as well. Venitis notes that Greece needs the constructive destruction of bankruptcy! Let it be. Bailout of Greece is a destructive distraction. The default of Greece, a bottomless pit, cannot be avoided. The challenges facing Greece are similar to those that confronted Argentina, which defaulted on $95 billion of debt in 2001. There are a lot of similarities in terms of inflexibility of the currency, capital flight, huge taxes, and the risk of austerity measures leading to a sharp contraction in growth. Greece's financing needs are huge in the coming two years. It needs to prove to the market that it can drastically reduce expenses, taxes, sinecures, and Graecokleptocracy. The markets demand to see at least one Graecokleptocrat in jail! Let it be.Venitis muses that giving euros to Graecokleptocrats is giving gin to alcoholics! Fourth Reich becomes a ginmill! A bailout does nothing to fix the misguided policies and Graecokleptocracy that have generated Greece's existing debt and ongoing deficits. Bailout merely postpones the day of reckoning. Worse, bailout both rewards Graecokleptocrats' bad past behavior and encourages such behavior in future. Greece will be back for additional bailouts in short order, since a bailout will not fix its underlying problem of Graecokleptocracy. Rather than bail out Greece, Fourth Reich and IMF should allow it to default. This will hurt Greece's creditors, but those entities assumed the risk when they loaned to a country long known for its kleptocracy. Let it be.Fourthreichian President Haiku Herman points out Greece can easily pay its debt by selling its assets, such as land owned by the government, forests, islands, postoffice, colleges, state buildings, public TV stations, public radio stations, highways, ports, airports, state hospitals, mines, offshore drilling, and many other public services. Everything should be privatized. 90% of public jobs should be eliminated, because they are just sinecures, created in exchange for votes!

Allow me to mention some of those reforms:* We have reduced government expenditure by about 8% and are well on our way to cut the deficit by 40% until the end of the current year. * We have revamped our tax system to minimize the scope of tax evasion and to ensure that those with the means are paying their fair share. Our policies are designed to restore trust in state institutions, and the rule of law. People will pay their taxes, if they trust the government to collect them both justly and use them wisely.* We have enacted new legislation to overhaul the debt-ridden pension system, inter alia by increasing retirement age and reducing benefits. * We have taken hard measures to shrink and overhaul the bloated public sector. * We are instilling financial rectitude by making governance more transparent, restoring trust in state institutions and sweeping away a system and practices that allowed corruption, graft, mismanagement and tax evasion to thrive.* Starting with the freight industry, we have adopted measures to open up the many 'closed–shop' professions blamed for keeping the Greek economy isolated and uncompetitive. * We have promoted a major administrative reform, trimming the layers of government and curtailing the ensuing bureaucracy – the number of prefectures was reduced from 57 to 13 and that of municipalities from over 1200 to 325.* We have launched OpenGov, an e-governance tool to encourage greater public participation in policymaking and open recruitment for senior government posts. This accounts for more meritocracy and less clientelism. Our aim is to become the most transparent country in the European Union.* And we have passed several measures to encourage entrepreneurship and to attract investment.In short, we have turned a fiscal crisis into an opportunity to push through necessary reforms that had been put off by successive governments afraid of the potential political costs.Greece also has huge untapped investment potential, from solar power to organic agriculture, green tourism to high-tech infrastructure and shipping. The loan we took will be paid back in full and with substantial interest. It came with strict conditionality. The implementation of our three-year program is closely monitored through 12 quarterly reviews. In their most recent quarterly review, the IMF and the EU praised, inter alia, "the impressive start of our program"; "the important reforms are ahead of schedule"; "the quantitative performance criteria that have all been met"; "the impressive progress being made on structural reforms"; "the landmark pension reform which is far-reaching by international standards";"the vigorous implementation of the fiscal program". The support mechanism by the EU and the IMF was not only a contract with Greece to make the necessary changes; it was also a vote of confidence in Greece's capabilities to carry them through. And that is what we are doing.So I would like to take this opportunity to respond to a persistent rumor: default. Default is not an option for Greece. All our Herculean efforts during the past year have been geared to ensure Greece does not default. May I say that those who hope to make a fortune by betting on a Greek default should be hedging their bets, while those who invest in Greece, in the new Greece, will share in our success.Gloomy predictions about social explosion and mayhem in the streets of Greece have not materialized. Yes, there have been protests and demonstrations – how could it be otherwise in a democracy, and particularly as vivid as in Greece. But they have been restrained since early May. And, as evidenced by the polls, the majority of people fully understand the scope of what is being attempted and back our Government's actions.Basil Venitis points out Nea Democratia, the most corrupt political party on Earth, is the conservative party of Greece. Founded in 1974 by Nazi spy Constantine Caramanlis, Nea Democratia formed the first cabinet of the Third Greek Republic. The Nea Democratia government was uncontrollably looting Greece with myriad scandals from 2004 to 2009. Nea Democratia is now the main opposition party in the Greek Parliament after its smashing defeat in the 2009 Greek elections in which it recorded its historical lowest percentage of votes 33.5%. No thought for the consequences of their myriad scandals. No thought for the future generations who would have to pick up the bills. Quite frankly, they didn't give a damn. Because after all, it wasn't their money. It was the Greeks' money.Since coming to power and looking at the books, Pasok ministers have asked each other Why did they behave so badly. Why did Neodemocrats do it? The answer is really simple. Because they could, and because they enjoyed immunity. By running up colossal debts on the nation's credit card, by robbing the Treasury, and receiving myriad kickbacks. Germany's greatest asset is the people. Their diversity and their talents make Germany such a great place to live. For me it's important to establish connections: between young and old; between people from the East and the West; native Germans and immigrants; employers, employees and the unemployed; people with and without handicaps. Of course, that's not easy. There are different interests, there are prejudices, complacency and entitlement mentalities. I'd like to help to build bridges because we have to approach each other free of preconceived notions. We should listen carefully to each other and talk to each other.There are countless success stories in our country. I think you'll understand if this year, 2010, I single out my meeting with the father of Ayguel Oezkan, the first Muslim minister at Land level in Germany, a man who worked hard for almost 50 years - indeed he is still working - who placed great importance on the education and commitment of his children and who has now seen how successful and respected his daughter is in our society. His eyes shone with happiness. Sometimes that generates more empathy than much of what we've experienced, and will continue to experience.The question as to whether we help to ensure that many more people in our country - many more parents - feel the happiness of being here and accepted and being treated as equals, is of great importance to me. But I know that there are not nearly enough of these success stories. When will it be considered only natural for everyone not only to have the same education opportunities regardless of their origin or level of prosperity but for all children who grow up here to be able to speak German, to be able to speak German well in addition to their native language? When will it be considered only natural that someone with the same grades has the same chances when applying for a job, regardless of whether they're called Yilmaz or Krause, or something else. Studies on this have shown there's no room for complacency, because there's a great need for action here and because, perhaps also due to ignorance, some inequalities have simply been accepted in the past.My response to such questions is: If we're less concerned about where someone comes from and more about where they want to go, if we no longer ask what divides us but what connects us, including the monotheistic world religions, then life will be more humane as well as more successful. If we stop looking for the advantages we have over one another and start looking at what we can learn from each other, then new and good things will emerge, for example from German discipline and Turkish dribbling, from the Prussian sense of duty and Anglo-Saxon nonchalance, from Swabian thoroughness and the Italian attitude to life, in future perhaps from the Rhineland's light-heartedness and the Chinese enthusiasm for education.Germany will also gain something if we spend less time asking how old someone is and recognize how young many have remained. At any rate, I'm impressed time and again by the zest with which senior citizens take on responsibility in our country and do good, for example by advising those starting up new businesses, reading stories in schools and kindergartens or as reliable members of church congregations or countless clubs and associations in Germany. These mature people already know what the young generation still has to learn: it's worthwhile being active; it enriches, not in the economic sense but in terms of friends, not in the monetary sense but in terms of happiness. It give us a sense of purpose, and we all need that. That's why it's so important for our country to offer many opportunities to assume responsibility and to be there for others. In Germany the freedom to establish associations and civic initiatives is guaranteed. However, this freedom is nothing without the drive of a countless number of citizens to actually take advantage of it and put it into practice on a daily basis.I'm firmly convinced that this also applies to political parties and their youth organizations. They offer a home to those interested in politics and strive to find the best solutions for our country. Nevertheless - and this has been very much on our minds - there is a widespread feeling that the parties are closed shops and tend not to look challenges square in the face, that they keep quiet about their magnitude and that they reach agreement on political issues more or less among themselves. Let's not forget that, as envisaged by our constitution, the political parties participate in the forming of the political will of the people. If an increasing number of political decisions are prepared and made by a decreasing number of party activists, then we shouldn't criticize these active members. Rather, we should encourage and commend them more. And we should try to encourage others to engage in the task of political self-determination and get them involved in this process.That can be done in many ways and at all levels of our society: from holding local referenda to setting up civic fora in the Internet and allowing voters to exert more influence on electoral lists. The forming of the people's political will requires the greatest possible number of channels through which new ideas, arguments and majorities can spread from the grassroots level to parliaments and cabinet offices. Even those citizens not involved in political parties must be able to experience how exciting being involved in political work can be, how difficult this work often is and how satisfying it therefore is to work out good and fair solutions in peaceful debate.Basil Venitis asserts that you own your body and your soul, and nobody should dictate what you take in and what you take out. What goes on in the Balkans directly affects the way our children will grow. In Greece, we have become deeply conscious of this reality. So we have made a commitment, especially to the Balkans and to its people. We believe that stability in our region is the pre-requisite for security and we define stability as the practice of democracy, the strengthening of institutions that provide transparency and accountability, the reduction of economic inequalities and the rule of law in our societies and between our countries. A key factor for bringing stability and development in the Balkans is good neighbourliness, a fundamental principle which, together with the other principles included in the Charter of the United Nations, constitutes the cornerstone of contemporary international legal order. Greece's security lies in being member of the European Union and of NATO and we work so that countries of the region may benefit from the stabilizing influence of their future membership in these institutions. The Balkans is still a sensitive area stability-wise. The dust from the dissolution of Yugoslavia has not settled yet.Greece's vision for the Balkans is one of a region in which democracy finally becomes the norm; where citizens' aspirations can finally be realized through peaceful and democratic practices; where the rights of minorities are respected; where governments are accountable, economies are transparent and politics allow for the fullest participation of all elements of society. The world has a responsibility in supporting this vision for our region. We need to empower the region that has historically been handicapped, dependent and divided by a world community of competing interests and a babble of conflicting signals. In our view, the prospect of the integration of the entire region into the European and Euro-Atlantic structures and institutions is the way ahead that can guarantee stability and development. The heart of the European ethos lies in building the institutions and practices of inclusiveness. That is why Greece has always supported EU enlargement, as a means to build a bridge of security, co-operation and development between nations.In order to breathe new life into the prospect of the integration of the Balkans in the EU, Greece has put forward a new initiative, the Agenda 2014, which builds upon the Thessaloniki Agenda, another Greek initiative for the region dating from 2003. The principal aim of this initiative is to set a political target to the EU accession process which will serve as a strong incentive for the whole region to put forward and speed up the necessary reforms and adaptations which will bring them closer to the EU.During the critical years of Yugoslavia's dissolution, the presence of the European Union in the Balkans was not adequate, with detrimental effects on the handling of the successive crises. We all know better now. There are still open wounds in our region, Kosovo being the most pressing one, and we must make sure that this time the EU will be present and with a strong voice. The European prospect of our entire region can boost the political process, which is about to begin on Kosovo. At the same time we need to keep an open and clear path for Serbia to begin accession negotiations with the EU. There are several other open issues in the Balkans. One of them revolves around the name of Vardaska. This is not a bilateral, pedantic dispute about historical symbols, as some may try to portray it, but a regional question, with deep historical roots, related to good neighbourliness. Vardaska is a landlocked country located in the central Balkan peninsula in Southeastern Europe. Its ancient name is Paeonia. Vardaskans do not follow Socrates in their efforts to find an exit to the sea, preferring to hoodwink, mumbo jumbo, and robbing names and history. Basil Venitis, twitter.com/Venitis, points out Socrates's famous method was the dialectic, from the Greek word that suggests both discussion and analytical sorting. The purpose of dialectic was to strip away the false knowledge and incoherent opinion that most people inherit from their societies and unthinkingly depend on to manage their lives. Although Socrates claimed to doubt that he or anyone else could acquire true knowledge about the good and virtue and the beautiful, he nonetheless believed that examination, critical consciousness applied to questions of virtue and the good, could eliminate false knowledge and muddled opinion. Socrates saw rational examination and pursuit of truth and virtue as the essence of what a human being is and the highest expression of human nature. That is why he chose to die rather than to give it up, declaring the unexamined life, he said, is no worth living. Basil Venitis, an Athenian orator, points out that Vardaskans understand the dialogue in a way that differs sharply from that of Socrates. For them, dialogue does not mean an attempt to rationally debate a topic in order to arrive at the truth. Truth is already given. It's called Tito's Dogma, and the only dialogue that is acceptable is one that will eventually lead to the implementation of Tito's Dogma of finding an exit of Vardaska to the Aegean Sea by robbing the name and heritage of Greek Macedonia.In order to reach a compromise on the name issue, the two sides must meet in the middle by taking reciprocal steps to bridge the gap and reconcile their conflicting positions. Greece has already done its part. A fair and lasting solution can only be based on a name with a geographic qualifier, to be used for all purposes, erga omnes. Macedonia is a large geographic region, most of which lies in Greece. A small part is in Vardaska and a smaller part in Bulgaria. The part cannot represent the whole and the Vardaska's exclusive claims to the name Macedonia cannot be allowed to fuel nationalism. Any solution must be universally implemented because otherwise today's situation will simply be perpetuated. We have intensified our efforts to reach a settlement, in the context of the established UN negotiating process, led by Mr Nimetz, in the hope that this will be possible rather sooner than later. I declare, once again, Greece's readiness to reach a solution even tomorrow and call upon Prime Minister Gruevski to display leadership and become our partner for progress. Progress that will result in a bright and prosperous future of our neighbours in the European Union.
